My guest for episode 14 of Concussion Talk Podcast is Kit Darling of Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, which, along with Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Toronto General Hospital, and Toronto Western Hospital, comprises the University Health Network (UHN).
Kit is a physiotherapist (PT) on the inpatient Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) rehab team. Currently working in the “neurocognitive stream” which caters to patients with more cognitive impairments, Kit has also worked in the “neurophysical stream” which caters to patients who are more physically impaired. Physiotherapists at UHN work closely with Occupational Therapists (OTs), social workers, speech therapists, and rehab therapists to help maximize patients’ independence, safety, and function prior to discharge home.
